the average rating on this one being 2.7 on letterboxd...... haters fr.
this one is a banger i'm sorry. riggs deserved better honestly + strahm is so dumb like hes right in your face!!!! also eric being stuck in a saw trap for 6 months is so incomprehensibly funny like what was the POINT. this was such a good leadup to the 5th movie i have nothing bad to say other than the motel scene does NOT get any easier to watch + jill's miscarriage makes me cry without fail. this oneis no nearly as bad as everyone makes it out to be.
Saw 3 (2006)

Dirty Dancing (1987)

reading this was filmed mostly in virginia made me love it all the more. i will never not love a dance movie and there's a fall out boy song named after the best line in this movie so c'mon!.
Saw 2 (2005)
dir. Darren Lynn Bousman
17 August 2025
nowhere near as good as the first, but the traps go stupid in this one. also xavier is the most caveman monkey brain ass dude and is more irritating every time i watch this movie.
Saw (2004)

Spent the entire movie saying "I think I'm gonna throw up". The monster made me feel physically sick.
I Know What You Did Last Summer (2025)
dir. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson
21 July 2025
The dialogue was immensely corny at times and the killer was predictable, but I genuinely enjoyed this sequel. Bringing back the original actors was fun. Every man in this movie was insufferable and as always cops are useless.
The Birdcage (1996)
dir. Mike Nichols
17 July 2025
Spent basically the entire movie thinking they should've just kicked the son's teeth in. The cast was wonderful in every possible way, but my god was it hard to get through this without being in pain. Down with the straights!

*Mamma Mia! (2008)
dir. Phyllida Lloyd
9 June 2025
Realized while showing this movie to my roommate who'd never seen it before that one of my favorite movie genres of all time is "girl with wild mother goes in search of her long lost father" and conveniently also stars Colin Firth. (What A Girl Wants starring Amanda Bynes, I am staring directly at you.)
Memento (2000)

Parts of this one didn't really hold up like I remembered, but oh, how I cried. The "Under Pressure" scene had me sobbing and the little monologue at the end, too.

The worst person you know makes a good point. This is what happens when you let a white man get too into anything. Having him reference AND sing Radiohead's "Creep" though.... hated it.

Aside from that, it did a great job at keeping me invested and truly freaked out the entire time about what would happen next.
Mermaids (1990)
dir. Richard Benjamin
18 May 2025
I spent more than half the movie crying. Expected it would be like Aquamarine (2006) - not a movie about my relationship with my mother.
Contains spoilers
Not a fan of everyone just not having an issue with Charlotte and a 26 year old man getting together, and Cher was in the mermaid costume for less than 5 minutes.
I do quite like a movie with a Winona Ryder inner monologue, though.
*Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004)
dir. Sara Sugarman
16 May 2025
This one still holds up. The costume designer deserves an award for every outfit Lindsay Lohan wore in this movie. I screamed at the Che Guevara t-shirt.
Cecil B. Demented (2000)
dir. John Waters
16 May 2025
Found Cecil to be insufferable (like if J.D. from Heathers (1989) was somehow more annoying) and am not a huge fan of satire, but the concept for this one was sick. We need more weird art and weird cinema. Execution - so so.
To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar (1995)

Patrick Swayze, Wesley Snipes, and John Leguizamo in drag. Need I say more?
Hot Summer Nights (2017)
dir. Elijah Bynum
15 May 2025
The narration reminded me of The Virgin Suicides (1999) which was kind of cool, but I wouldn't have finished this one if it wasn't for Timothee.
Another Simple Favor (2025)
dir. Paul Feig
15 May 2025
A lot of this would've been solved if they just married each other. I know Blake Lively is public enemy #1 right now but I'm sorry! She is very fun to watch in these.
A bit upset by how almost unrecognizable Allison Janney was and how they set it up to reveal that an obvious third movie was in the works.
Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa (2013)
dir. Jeff Tremaine
15 May 2025
I love Johnny Knoxville but this was a miss for me.
It did get more enjoyable as it went on at least? And the pageant scene got some laughs out of me.

Second off, this was the saddest fucking movie I've seen in a hot minute. I'm sure I spent at least an hour and a half straight crying and the runtime was only 1 hour 46 mins. Went into this expecting a silly Rachel Sennott movie, but my god. She killed this role. Filing this under "Movies I can only watch once in my lifetime because they're so sad".
The NeverEnding Story III (1994)
dir. Peter MacDonald
20 April 2025
DNF. Really nowhere near as good as the first two. I had higher hopes on the basis that I read the Jim Henson Company had done the character designs until I saw Falkor! On top of the fact that the entire cast had been changed up. I guess seeing a young Jack Black was kind of cool.Contains spoilers
The NeverEnding Story II (1990)

Can't even begin to understand what was going on in this one. The score was entertaining, though.

Somehow survived the first minute of another unfortunate chicken scenario in a John Waters' movie and managed to finish this one. It certainly paved the way to what his later films would become.
Multiple Maniacs (1970)

13 April 2025
The church scene was so crazy??? And the lobster??? This one was so fun and ridiculous and I had no idea what would happen next at any point. Definitely will re-watch at some point.Contains spoilers
Desperate Living (1977)

Yeah, this one was not it for me idk!!! I really missed Divine. As always, Edith Massey was stellar. This one felt more like it was simply shock value than even Pink Flamingos but nowhere near as campy or enjoyable.Contains spoilers

Unfortunately I have zero critical thinking skills when it comes to Timothee. I'm a simple guy, I see that twink on screen and enjoy every second. This was an especially wonderful performance by him, though. Got lost in it and forgot it was him acting the role of Bob Dylan.
That being said, the scene of Sylvie coming home after Joan spends the night made me cry really bad!!!! + when him and Joan are on tour and he makes the mumbled comment about his drinking!!!!! What a SHIFT in the tone of the movie!!!!! AND the cigarette through the fence!!!! Jesus Christ.
Cold Skin (2017)
dir. Xavier Gens
9 April 2025
DNF at about 55mins in. Started watching per the bestie's recommendation, but could not get over how it was basically like if A24's The Lighthouse (2019) and del Toro's The Shape of Water (2017) were one. Not a fan of movies with people having sex with amphibian monsters! Sorry!Contains spoilers
Female Trouble (1974)

"Who wants to die for art?"
This one was over-the-top and ridiculous (in a good way). Making my way through John Waters' filmography slowly but surely.
Pink Flamingos (1972)
dir. John Waters
6 April 2025
Don't know where to start with this one. Had a harder time watching it than I thought I would. The chicken scene was especially off-putting. Divine's performance honestly carried the movie. There is something so all-encompassing about her acting. I didn't hate it, but definitely a hard watch overall. John Waters, the man you are.Contains spoilers
Dog Day Afternoon (1975)
dir. Sidney Lumet
6 April 2025
Robbing a bank to pay for his wife's sex change surgery? No one is doing it like him anymore. This movie was wonderful. The dialogue was so funny. Sweaty bisexual Al Pacino was delightful to watch. Everything about this was genius. Will be rewatching over and over again.
Dead Poet's Society (1989)
dir. Peter Weir
1 April 2025
Unsure of how I'd gone my entire life without having watched this all the way through. Hate that I had, as a bad tendency, predicted Neil's suicide. Especially after having spent the major part of the movie in awe of how hopeful and optimistic the whole thing felt! Carpe diem. Carpe fuckin' diem.Contains spoilers

Body horror done right. The last 15 minutes were so campy and felt reminiscent of 80's horror flicks. That alone made the entire movie worth watching.

I did, however, have to split watching this into two because the tooth pulling scene made me sick. Demi Moore killed this role and I am a sucker for Margaret Qualley.

There was nothing I didn't love about this movie. The dialogue was hilarious. The cast was perfect. I love weird tech folk.
Nosferatu (2024)
dir. Robert Eggers
12 January 2025
This felt like a classic horror movie and was done SO well. My literal only complaint was Nosferatu straight up looking like Jim Carrey as Eggman.
My Old Ass (2024)
dir. Megan Park
12 January 2025
I wish I had nicer things to say about this one, but it was just NOT it. The whole "girl is gay until she finds the perfect Man" thing was so lame. I fully went into this thinking it'd have a lot more Aubrey Plaza screentime and it did not. The real saving grace of this movie was Aubrey Plaza and the Justin Bieber "One Less Lonely Girl" scene during the shroom trip. Other than that, this one kind of sucked and fell extremely short for me.Contains spoilers
Life After Beth (2014)

Ouch. Daniel Craig played such a sopping wet, pathetic yearning gay man and every second of it fucking hurt. I've been wanting to re-watch this one, but I'm not sure my heart could take it. Having another Trent Reznor score in a Luca movie.... incredible.

I think watching this with a bunch of cis men was my first mistake, but that didn't stop me from sobbing like a little bitch when I saw the chalked "There is still time". The planetarium scene still haunts me. I really, really wanted Owen to go with Maddie, especially that final time.

I have never known pain like watching this for the first time, being confused for about 85% of the film, only to be emotionally fucked when I realized what was happening. This one is a hard watch only in the sense that it is just so fucking painful.

Beau is Afraid (2023)

I love a Joaquin Phoenix movie. Albeit, this one did not need to have a 3-hour runtime, but it accurately portrayed what living with anxiety feels like. The vignettes within this one were incredible.
